Dear Ladies: Marriage (the type that is healthy, mutually satisfying/fulfilling and lasts forever is beyond just physical looks, fleeting feelings or even a fat bank account. To avoid stories that touch and make us cry...
Recently a friend of mine confided in me that her marriage was in a mess and that she greatly regrets why she chose to marry her present husband of all the suitors that asked her for hand in marriage when she was a spinster. This my friend being of average hieight told me that she wished she was a little bit taller and since she had stopped growing made up her mind inwardly that she must get married to a tall guy so that her own children wont be brief heighted like her. Infact within her this became her Number 1 criterion for choosing a husband. But... Years after getting married to her supposed prince charming, she is now so full of regrets because she had foolishly refused the marriage proposals of promising, sincere, God-fearing and purpose- filled men because they were short or not to her unrealistic standards then. She failed to understand that in life, looks will fade, status of any sort may change, but character which is what matters most especially when it comes to marriage will never cease...at least in most cases.
she has finally landed herself and her unfortunate kids by landing herself in a disastrous marriage that should never have been in the first place and is now running helter skelter looking for a solution and way out in all the most wrong places.
